Nice win but......

looking at the reports i wish i'd watched wales v N Ireland....

WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO   :shootself :shootself

i can't believe that the thought would even cross my mind. But the england players seem so remote to me now that i just don't feel any passion for them. :nono:

And I'm not entirely convinced that many of the team show much passion when they put on an England shirt either.

I'm with you there. I find it hard to connect unless its a grudge match like Argentina.

I got over the Portugal thing surprising quickly. When Argentina knocked us out the World Cup I was shell shocked for days.

I think it was the Ferdinand thing that did it for me.

That's sad isn't it.

I get bored watching england thesedays unless its the finals. Missed them this summer as well was away for the summer! Switched over and watched the second half of wales/n.ireland instead, great game!

Whats with the players refusing to talk?? Granted the tabloids go far too ott with their criticism but jees talk about being childish.

Sorry but its just the Albion for me. :albion:  :ascarf:

I do believe more people are coming around to my long-held belief that international football is no more important than pre-season friendlies. The sad thing is that the powers that be make decisions based on what is best for the national team because that is what reflects best on them. If England ever won something (unlikely though that is) the FA bods would probably get knighthoods or something. If the Albion win the League, then the FA get nothing.

So the clubs get shafted all the time and I'm sick of it. Make the national teams play on a Thursday lunchtime and only allow them to use players not required by their clubs.

Well personally I love all England games - especially when they are exclusive to Sky tv. Gives me a damn fine excuse for a night down the pub.

Brighton for me, at least you see a group of players willing to fight for 3 point sand chase every ball.

Refusing to talk to media just shows em for what they are!!!

I'm sure all the winging and negativity will have been forgotten when were all in Munich in 2006 having a few beaters and RUNNING the Germans ???

As per previous threads, until the team stop acting like prima donna's and as "I'm the team superstar" rather than as a team (which they tried to portray by refusing to see mediabut was imo very see through) then we aint gonna win nothing!

Granted we should get to the finals but I'm expecting the semi's at best.

The African nations are fast catching the rest of the world, Greece have shown what you can do by playing as team, Germany are starting to look VERY good under Klinsman!!

Not looking good I think you may agree, I would hope when Ferdinand and Campbell are back that they may add an extra 20% to our national game!!

We just have not learned any thing from our mistakes we go ahead and then fail to keep the ball and give it away in silly places and having a complete twat directing them from the bench

who is more intent on shagging his way throught the female fa workers is not what we should have.

England match last night was boring but the only unexpected thing was thet we did not conceed a late goal but that was poland more than our doing

Did any one see the bloke on the tv with an albion top on after the national anthem? Highlight of the game for me

I lost count how many times we stupidly just passed the ball to Poland, if it was a better team we would have been Slaughtered last night!!

Turned over at about 70 mins to watch "Some mother do ave em!"

Although I agree with you in your views on the passion for the country, I feel this is not the case for the whole england squad. These are the top english players I feel are worth their status in todays game and indeed their place in the national side:

Ashley Cole
Steven Gerrard
Jermain Defoe
John Terry

As for the others they will play when and if they feel like it!

Thats the difference between club and country, club is more passionate as you choose to support and love them, however with country you are pretty much forced to follow. Imagine being Scottish!!

OH YES!! I agree with you, there is a small core of the team!

Players who get my full respect at the moment:

Ashley Cole, Gerrard, Lampard, Terry, Defoe, Rooney, L.King.

But a minority feel they have the right to be picked regardless:

Beckham, Neville (leading team rebel), Owen (although I think may be easily led!!)

thing is if a Brighton player were to put on an England shirt you'd all be hooked and saying its the greatest thing ever (probably would be). Same with me an EngU21 games, I NEVER bother with them unless it was Zamora playing and now Harding...otherwise I dont watch 'em!
