The one-day permits are limited to 25 per year, not per day if you didn't notice.

A nice little earner for the residents as they can treble their money flogging the permits.

The club have had to stump up £150,000 to pay for the Coldean/Moulsecombe parking scheme, so if it has added to ST prices, it's thanks to those who refused to listen when told not to park there. In a similar way to the travel subsidy being added due to some taking the mick and riding for free.

For me the two aren't that comparable.

The people who jumped on trains without buying vouchers were in effect stealing, the same as if done on any day of the week. Illegal.

The people that park in Coldean/Moulsecombe have tax on the car and as long as parked correctly is Legal.

The first evening game last season, i parked in Coldean, legally, in my taxed, insured, and MOTed car,an old dear came out of her house and told me I wasn't allowed to park in the road outside . I asked her if someone usually parked there, from her house, if so I would have moved. Her answer was no, but I couldn't park there because "you are football crowd" and she didn't want us parked outside her house. It seems to me that the club should have told the council to go and take a running jump at themselves, what could the council do? close the biggest asset Brighton has had built since the Royal Pavillion

What happens to Bennett's field next year? I seem to remember we had use of it for two years to start with. Has this been extended?

Extended 1 more year
Not extended. The original planning permission was always granted until the end of the 2013-14 season, to be followed by restoration to agricultural land.

There are still lots of unused parking spaces at Sussex University and at the Racecourse. And it's much more convenient to get out of Sussex University than Bennetts Field (where the queueing time is much longer).

So local residents receive a parking permit, plus 1 transferable permit. Plus, they can buy 25 one-day permits for £2.60. And the scheme is only operational on match days.

WTF? No wonder the residents voted for this... it's basically a money making scheme for them at the club's and taxpayers expense. Sell the transferable permit to somebody for the full season for a nice little fee... and then stand around selling the one-day permits for £8/£9 each. Job done.

What are the odds on this site being swamped with people offering 'match day parking permits' next season!
Ha Ha, perfect! what a good idea, you hit the nail on the head. There's always a way around these things.

Can't say I am happy about the whole thing ...particularly fingers being pointed at people like me who park legally and with consideration... are costing the club money...(I do pay for travel I don't use).... Will it make me cancel my ST probably not ..how am I going to get there for kick off without it costing me more money I haven't a clue

Anyone know somebody who lives in Coldean?

If there is a parking spot on a public road and I park there (which I don't I get the train or coach as I'm a pisshead) then that's fair game?

I don't see it as finger pointing at you, or anyone else, but the what's now happening in Coldean/Moulsecomb is a direct result of people choosing to ignore the club's request about on-street parking in these areas and putting BHA in breach of the stadium planning consents. It's all there in black 'n white so hardly a surprise?

Well there is a post on this thread that does that and I've heard same elsewhere....for some of us it's very difficult not to do anything but park there...the alternative? Basically watch less matches...in the meantime I'll watch and see what happens over permits etc

But your right..not surprised

No, £13 is way too much. First season I paid to go in the Uni, but £360 wasn't worth it. However, people who "have to drive," (and yes, there are some) could have parked further away but near a bus stop and caught the 25 so as not to wind up residents in Coldean/Moulsecombe

It is 270 in university
