Hodgson has picked the best players, the tactics have been OK and he's also managed to handle the press and keep a lid on all the usual media bollocks you get with England. It's just a shame he doesn't have top players that make a difference at the highest level.

I hope he stays on. He's selected the likes of Stones, Shaw, Phil Jones and Barkley and I'm sure he'll bring them through over the next two years. You can see that this tournament was always a learning exercise with more chance of success in Euro 16.

Absolutely this. Couldn't agree more. Not sure why the whole country doesn't see it too!

Wise words.

Really don't see who's a better option than Roy right now.

And I actually feel better than I did at the last WC - we were absolute toilet four years ago

Completely agree. We scraped through an awful group then. We're going out of a tough group this time but played much better. Anything else is reactionary rubbish

Realistically who is there to even replace him without going foreign again!

Big Sam? :lolol:

Arry redknapp?

Alan Pardew?

Steve Bruce?

Sean Dyche?

Steve McClaren?

Holloway?

Nigel Pearson?

Is Welsh foreign? The Beeb have been bigging up a certain Dai all the time on R5 before he flew back today...

I agree with everything you say there. Except, I worry if Phil Jones is going to get more games for England. Completely overrated player IMO.

Cos we lost two games in a row, both of which we COULD have won. Where was Lampard in either game?

Are you serious? Lampard has done nothing for England. I've not heard anyone say he should have played more. Pretty much ruins any point you had. We had a tough group and we're closer to winning than I thought we would be. As I said, you're view of defeat means sack the manager is why we've gone so long without winning a tournament

Roy got to stick with it.

Who else? No one in my view. If we do Hoddle. Why not? Foreign isn't the way.

I'd like Roy to continue. It looks to me like he's built a good atmosphere in the team, he's brought through youth and we've actually looked dangerous going forward on the World Stage.

Jagielka simply isn't an international class centre back but Roy would have been very brave to play Jones. Jones must play in the next game though.

Unless Michael Appleton fancies it?
