There's a Welsh League, a Scottish League, and Irish League (Northern Ireland), the football league is in all but name the English League.

Sorry have to disagree. There is no such thing. Cardiff and Swansea (plus Newport) are not members as guests. The FA Cup is a different matter.

Not being allowed to enter Welsh Cups is a relatively recent thing enforced by UEFA.

The history might be a bit odd, but it's there. No such thing as The English Football League.

I appreciate what you say, which is why I said 'in all but name' What differentiates it from the Welsh, Scottish and Irish leagues? Of course, Cardiff and Swansea are no longer in the football league.
