Caroll has been booked after knocked the ball past the diving krul and then threw himself to the floor. Blatant dive, and an example to all those who spout the argument "why would you dive if you've got a chance of scoring" - no idea why, but it does happen. Caroll would have had an open goal, but just dived. It wasn't even a lost balance thing, he actually dived.

Can't wait for Kenny's sullen dismissive post match interview responding to it.

Liverpool - A fallen giant the one club in the wrong place when Skys money came into the league if sky had come along 5 years earlier i believe they would still be the major force in european and english football - my heart bleeds for them........ Not fecking likely that club denied us all the chance of watching Wimbledon play in Europe.

'King' Kenny has spent huge sums of money for what? Dross and mediocrity.

Compare that to the amount his opposite number, on Merseyside, Moyes has had to spend over the years.

Absolutely mad transfers, Downing 20m? why? Henderson - has been awful. I can see why they paid the money for Carroll (as it came straight from the Torres deal) but looks like being the biggest premiership flop of all time.

That's harsh, he has invested in youth and the players need time.

For what it's worth I think Liverpool have been excellent in the first half and it's a crackerjack of a match.

Err not harsh at all. Liverpool look terrible and King Kenny has spunked millions up the wall for dross. Carroll is a disgrace to football.

Not really.
Suarez is 25, and for a £20m plus striker 7 goals is an awful return, that's what Torres cost more a less from Athletico.
Carrol is 23, by no means old, but to spend £35 million on someone who'd had under half a season in the Premier League is ludacrous. He's not even looked good without scoring goals, he's been utterly shit. It would be like someone paying £35 million for Danny Sturridge or Welbeck.
Downing, one of the most over-rated players in the Premiership, good on his day, but so are most players in that league. Far, far too inconsistent and doesn't score the goals or even provide them to warrant £20 million, they paid more than United did for Ashley Young who was always a far better player.
Henderson was worth half, if that, of what Liverpool paid. Charlie Adam's been shit, and Coates cost the same as Chelsea have just paid for Gary Cahill, a proven Premiership player.

How anyone can defend Dalglish staggers me, they've just been overtaken by Everton, who have next to no money. Liverpool have possibly even spent more than Man City this season?

Newcastle have proven, as much as i dislike Pardew, how to spend money in Ba, Cisse, and Ben Arfa etc.

Great block by Perch.
Newcastle nearly had to fish that out the net.

Liverpool are in the business of winning trophies and of the two they could realistically win this season they've won 1 and have a great chance of winning the other. For my money that equates to a succesful first season for Dalglish, next season will be all about qualifying for the Champions League.

I agree Carroll has been a dissapointment but he will come good in time. Suarez is a magnificent player and was a snip at £22m, his game is not all about goals. Henderson has took longer to settle in then I expected but will in time become a Liverpool great, he's a fantastic little player, great energy and drive, good technique, a future Liverpool captain. Downing has been poor but was Villa's player of the season last year and was head and shoulders above Ashley Young.

You also omitted Enrique who is as good a full back as there is in the Prem and Bellamy whose signing has been a masterstroke.

Newcastle's second was offside. Alan Smith is taking nonsense with the second phase stuff, he was in an offside position when the ball was played, he was still offside even if it got a touch in the middle.

i really like liverpool football club. and liked king kenny when he first came back.. but he's been grinding on me all season and now i hate the man! hilarious to see him spend a fortune on shit and fail! yes they won the carling cup, but 4th place is a better achievement these days. He needs the FA cup to save his season IMO. If he had spent no money then it wouldnt seem quite so bad and the carling cup would have been a pretty good achievement.

I ommitted Enrique because he was good business, yes. To become worth the money, Carroll will have to keep up with the likes of Rooney, Van Persie, Aguero which I can't see him ever doing. Players costing that sort of money should take a team to the next level, not in the opposite direction.
The Carling Cup is the smallest trophy any Premier League club can win. Only the likes of Bolton, Wigan, and Norwich would see winning that as a successful season, nobody gives a shit about it, proven by the fact that most of the big clubs got knocked out by playing teams made up of subs and the youth squad.

To spend £100m, finish well outside the top 4, and being below two sides who have very little money in comparison is not successful. They should be competing with the top 2/3 having spent that.

This performance is laughable, as is their season.

So Carroll throws a strop having been dragged off, now Reina is sent off and Enrique in goal in front of his former home supporters. Couldn't have written a better script. Cheerio Ken
