It was a poor decision but I can see why the linesman gave it. Nippy winger Ben Arfa flew through the air like he'd been hacked from lumbering centre-half Ferdinand.

The Roy Carroll incident is easily the worst decision I've ever seen in the Prem.

Man United get dodgy penalties for them quite often but when they have one against them its a travasty.
By making such a big thing of it its a clever ploy by Man United to put pressure on officials next time there is a big decision in their own box

A few years back, one of the papers did have a top 10 of the worst decisions ever. The winner was the Schumacher assault on Battison. Quite rightly; that was the worst decision I've seen in 45 years of watching football and I'd find it hard to think there'd be a worse one in the next 45 years.

The penalty on Saturday wouldn't have been in the top 20 of such a list...

The first penalty at Saints was MUCH worse than that.

It does my head in the way the BBC suck up to Sir Alex. Watching Match of the Day is cringeworthy stuff a lot of the time. I know they had a long-term problem with Ferguson not giving them a post-match interview but they and other media outlets need to stop being so biased.

The penalty should never have been given. I must admit i'm glad Ferdinand was on the wrong end of it. I bet he was all over twitter after the match. What a self-important tube.

Funny how this was the ref accepting the wrong opinion of the linesman, whereas ours at St Mary's was the ref ignoring the linesman's correct opinion. Camera's needed for all penalties?

It really is ridiculous at how bad the officials are in our game! right across the board! i get it bad playing at a decent enough non league level where you might expect it, but it is just as bad in the premiership! past the stage of laughing at it now! it makes me angry!

Shocking...... Shouldn't be happening at the top level. Needs to set an example for the lower leagues to look up to ....
