Emailed mr barber today in the hope of laying on a plane from Gatwick here was his response
email.

The cost of private domestic air travel in the UK is very expensive. We know this as we regularly use a charter aircraft for team travel.

A plane for 49 people would cost around £30,000 return - that's at least £600 per supporter before the club's own costs are covered.

Understandably, from experience with Tottenham (and Vancouver), there is usually very little demand for such transport from supporters.

Whilst we fully appreciate that kick-off changes for live TV coverage can be very inconvenient for some supporters, we also very much need the revenue from the TV companies to support the club's running costs, particularly when we are trying to assemble another competitive squad.

Thanks for your support for the club.

Regards, Paul

He hasn't actually said no though :moo:

Presumably you countered with "We all get many thousands of pounds of free rail travel every year, first class where available, so £120 is nothing. Do one love."?

How much is your transport to and from Newcastle costing incidentally?

I'll resist this as normally I get banned, nice try

Why don't you all fly to Edinburgh on Easyjet from Gatwick and hire a coach to pick the group up and go from Edinburgh to Newcastle and back then fly back from Edinburgh. Probably only cost £100 each then
