It won't be Amex sponsoring. They tend to keep away from sporting sponsorship as they have an international reputation to uphold. They'd be more likely to sponsor a competition like the Champions League but they won't get involved in grass roots football.

I don't think Skint could realistically afford it and there are a lack of big name Brighton based companies that obviously spring to mind. I think we will have to look at the wider Sussex picture and perhaps a Crawley/Gatwick company.

Isn't it time Virgin got their name in football? Branson has a finger in every other pie after all.

Otherwise maybe the Easyjet stadium? Or just Easy Stadium?

Bizarrely enough I had a dream last night that Dick Knight had died and that the Falmer stadium was named after him. Rather hoping he's still around when it does get built however.

Shit, you're right.

I'd forgotten that. Wonder why they've been so quiet since?

But then I guess association with Palace is enough to put anyone off football.

Why don't BAA sponsor us?

I must have words with the boss

Stelios and his brother are Tottenham fans and own about 10 per cent of Spurs shares. Not that it would stop them transferring allegiance, of course.
Obviously Virgin have their main base at Gatwick, although the similar proximity of Palace has already been mentioned.
There are a couple of other major firms with their HQs down Brighton way, though, isn't there? I know there's one near Haywards Heath but have had a brainstorm and can't remember which.
And there's the RSPCA, of course.
And The Body Shop. :)
