Sorry, but that is UTTER nonsense. Whatever people's views are, of Hammonds strengths and weaknesses, Hammond was an EXCELLENT penalty taker. You KNEW he was going to score, every time.

I was basing my post on an especially poor one he took against Leyton Orient. We had absolutely walloped them, but he missed the chance to hammer them even more.

Mind you, what do I know? I actually wanted Bennett to take over from Murray when he was missing all his spot kicks last season, and look where that has got us. My favourite player, but penalty taking does not appear to be his greatest strength.

In true vacancies style Wanted a couple of new players to be able to take a penalty effectively would be an advantage.

Gus can mould and teach everything else about the players but it appears he cant mould or teach penalty takers.

No, he really isnt. Anyone that thinks that having i presume only seen Austin once or twice, and on the football league show IMO clearly shows a distinct lack of knowledge. They are completely different players.

Murray is more of a playmaker, Austin is always in the right place at the right time, them two would be perfect together, there's no way you can compare them.
