Adam Birchall (CF) from Barnet according to TeamTalk :jester:
Neal Eardley (Defender) from Oldham according to some newspaper!?
I've also heard about Dean Bowditch joining on a free.

I'd personally make Matt Richards my priority - if we can get Westlake as well then that's a real bonus!

This time last year this site was full of people in the know who said we were going to sign the Aldershot keeper Nicky Bull but did we, did we heck. I believe any signings when they actually sign although I do expect a few during the summer and some suprises in and out.

I feel sorry for Sullivan

Why? He's only doing what Sidwell's doing at Chelski, give or take a few decimal places. He's putting aside any thoughts of personal ambition and just drawing the wages. The boy Sullivan is now practically halfway to his testimonial season and maybe needs to have a quiet word with himself.

I feel sorry for him because he has dilluded himself that he is going to compete for the number 1 shirt/place. Sure he will compete but he won't ever get a chance.

Sullivan never gets near a shot in warm up drills, maybe thats why he's not picked in the match day squads, and they would rather rick Tommy Fraser in goal?

Kuipers has activated his contract clause anyway, so thats Sullivan not getting a 1st team look again, especially if we sign this Salisbury keeper.

Gary McDonald from Oldham? he any good, heard rumour about him joining us

I did, but when you think about it it's not as if we haven't watched him this season is it. The management team obviously don't deem him good enough to challenge for a first team place so he shouldn't be here.

Hope this Clarke is good, from what I've heard he is - it would be great to have a new face in goal.

It would only be great to have a new face in goal IF he is better than Kuipers.

I know you are very anti-Kuipers and, in my opinion you are over-critical of him. On the basis oif your criticisms of him, any new keeper would have to be very good indeed to meet the standard you demand.

If Clarke or any other keeper we sign does meet your standards, that would be wonderful!

Would be great to get both Richards and Westlake on a permanent basis. And with a couple other new signings we should be pushing for a top 6 for sure next season at least.

Adam Birchall (CF) from Barnet according to TeamTalk :jester:

I saw Barnet at the weekend; Birchall looked pretty good; good strength (for a relatively small man) and decent pace, and a good first touch. I think if we signed him it would be to play in place of Forster (either next season when Forster may not be able to play every game, or the season after when presumably he won't quite be up to this seasons standards). However my Barnet-supporting friend says he tends to blow hot and cold. Puncheon their winger was the best player on the pitch; unfortunately I think he's out of our price range.

Scott Davies, midfielder being released by Reading. Been on loan at Aldershot this season.

I looked up this Clarke fella and saw he played a season at Forest Green, there's someone on here who watches them, I wonder if he knows anything about him??

I assumed OGH would be the backup goalie following his half-time display at Walsall.

For me that was one of the highlights of the season, along with the pre-match warm up before the league game at Cheltenham...if we had played that well during the last 5 minutes and injury time we would have strolled the game...but we didn't!

That would be me, he spent a whole season with Forest Green (05/06) on loan from Bristol Rovers then went directly to Salisbury where he has been ever since. I only saw a couple of games that season, not really following the team until last season, though he was an ever present in a side that only avoided relegation on the last day.

I did see him play earlier this season, for Salisbury, but can't remember him having anything to do whatsoever...he did keep a clean sheet though, but it has to be said that it was a particularly inept Rovers display that he faced, probably the worst I have seen. He is probably worth a look at, after all we do have a fairly good record of signing players with a link to Bristol Rovers.

I have heard we are resigning Turienzo and Damien Hilton. They will form a strike partnership to fear with Doug Loft, having signed a six year deal, playing behind them. This will spearhead our promotion campaign with Murray, Forster and Dixon all being sold.
