Although I have been reading the fascinating threads on NSC for more than one year, this is my first post, so please be patient, understanding and forgiving, and let me introduce myself.
My name is Uncle Ian. I was born in the Royal Sussex County Hospital longer ago than I care to think, and went to my first Albion matches in the "chicken-run" at the Goldstone as a 7-year old during the 1955-56 season. I was there when we beat Watford (?) 6-0 to gain promotion for the very first time in our history. (Eric Gill, Des Tennant, Adrian Thorne/5 goals, Glen Wilson etc.) I regularly attended all matches at the Goldstone between 1955 until 1969, including Reserve games etc. I was at Varndean from 1959 to 1967, before moving to uni up north and going to games at St James's Park and Roker Park. I played for the Brighton Boys in the late 50's and the Under 18's in the mid 60's. I've been living in France for the past +30 years, where I've worked in Paris and now up in Brittany. Despite my efforts to persuade my son to bcome a Seagull, he is a Chelsea fan. I still have family in Burgess Hill, one member of which is also a regular contributor to NSC, as well as being a Spurs fan! He was at WHL last Saturday, but shouting for the Seagulls. I like golf and, when in the UK, often play a round (around?) or three at Hassocks and Waterhall.
My views on a few recent subjects :
*Prince Harry is an ignorant pr*t, who deserves to end up in the Tower ... minus his head.
*2-Jags should get off his fat a*se and get his finger out pretty quick. (If that's where he puts his finger.)
