Really do think the music is just too loud but maybe it's a case of "if it's too loud, you're too old".
No it's not . . . I'm old and still play in bands.

It's too loud. . . . the shit they play in the ground post match isn't any better.

I haven't calculated the amplification factor for banal dirge over proper music though. 👨‍🦳

First time in there on Sat. Simply put, too loud. Moved outwards to a point where we could talk without shouting at each other and having to stick ears in mates mouths which was basically in the seagull circle!
Having done all that, it had the desired effect on transport. Walked straight onto train, and home by half 6, same time as usual. Queuing time for SASTA replaced with a beer and shouting at mates who can’t hear you! What’s not to like🥹

Quickest way by far to get a beer outside seems to be locating one of those guys with the beer backpacks. Done that a few times now. Walked out of the east stand 10 mins after final whistle against West Ham, instantly saw 2 of those guys serving beers with not many people queuing up. Beer in hand, enjoying the sun, less than 5 minutes after exiting the stadium.
Bought three pints from a backpack seller on Saturday. Will not make that mistake again ….. ever.
Flat and horrible. Awful.

Well I tought it was buzzing on Saturday and I really like The Terrace. I love the vibe of it, got there an hour before and stayed an hour after. It's only been open a few weeks so I'm sure it'll adapt.

The Terrace was great after Saturday's game due to a fabulous result, decent weather and being able to watch the footie even when standing outside. Just a shame about Villa!

However, WTF it the blaring pounding music all about? Was anyone seriously there for the music? I didn't see anyone ' busting some moves " :). All I saw was lots of people trying to chat with their mates and/or watching the screens. It just doesn't need it!

Must be long term targeting a younger demographic. I first encountered the incredibly loud bars music thing on staff nights out in Brighton city centre in about 2010. Even younguns trying to talk to each other had to yell into lugholes.

I was the old fart (53) there with my lad (29), a friend (in her 30s) and her son (about 11). All 4 of us left after 1 drink because of the utterly crushing volume of the music, having fully intended to watch the game, or at least most of it.

Maybe none of us were the demographic they were looking for. But I honestly hadn't expected to walk into a RAVE after the game.

TB/PB appear to do everything after extensive research.

I’d hate it too as I like conversation.

I wonder how the actual takings compare to estimated takings?

So far, it is plainly a winner financially speaking. I'm not so sure I would leave a game early to be first in, but some love it enough to do so.

is there any queuing for trains after 30/40 mins in terrace
I had a couple of pints post match in the Terrace on Saturday. I must’ve left there at around 6ish, walked straight down on to the Westbound platform and was on a train to Brighton within 5-10 minutes.

That's the thing. I get it in terms of a night out on the town. However, The Terrace post or pre match is not the context in which you need the music. You're having a beer and more than likely talking football and/or watching it.

The sound is always going to be difficult with the layout & the shutters being opened or closed. There can be a happy medium though, it basically needs someone there who can 'read the room' & knows how to turn up different speakers whilst not scaring the bats.

The Terrace might help a bit, but the main reason the trains were easy was because there was a full set of long trains in service. Just wait for an evening game where there are only short trains and we’ll have the usual long queues.

Was getting bus back to lewes after the game Saturday, so I thought I would get a pint and watch the 1st half of the cup semi , so I grabbed a pint from one of the backpack boys never again like others pint was flat and warm but the bus que to lewes at around 6ish was nothing so good idea to ease congestion but definitely won’t get a drink from one of the backpackers again

Good to see we’re still finding ways to moan and complain about our stadium and new facilities.
Christ, that's harsh. It's a new facility and people have only so much money for entertainment. If you can't sound off about flat beer, loud music or wonder about the impact on train queues on here, where can you?

I'll bet you 20 pee that the club are monitoring this thread with a good deal of interest. If not, they really should be. Nobody wants The Terrace to be anything other than a success, even if it's not for them. It can only help the club and fans if it is a success.
