So the majority of you believe Sven is a waste of space.

Suggestions for a replacement please.

I haven't any suggestions for a replacement at this point in time, but I do think Sven has been biding his time with England. His decisions have been misguided at times and I think the decisions he made more or less lost us the France game. No easy answers - will he want to stay anyhow?

Arsene Wenger off the top of my head. He at least knows that to win games you don't sit on leads from the 3rd minute.

Just how many of the 4 games we've played in have we looked a class side???

When Sven is sacked or whatever I thikn Curbs will be the one to replace him BUT i don't think Sven will leave or be sacked. He has done a good job and we are definately better than we have been for a long time

No disrespect but I hope you're wrong. What has Curbishley ever won that makes you think he could be an International manager. He needs to leave Charlton for a big club, manage Internatianal standard players and actually win something before he's even considered for the England job.

More importantly there is no obvious choice nationally

I think we should stick with Sven.

Well I mean I am dejected as anyone, and nothing ever looks that rosy after such a defeat.

But as raised on this thread, there is no other obvious candidate. There are a couple that may emerge in 2 or 3 years as genuine contenders but that does not help us now.

I thought overall we have done fairly well in this tournament. There have been mistakes, and at this level they will always prove ultra costly. But it could be worse – for example the Germans who have not beaten a European team in a major tournament since 1996!

Keep Sven. Remember that England were shit at Euro 88 under Robson and then went on to the semis of WC 90.

me too.

yeah we've not won anything but his record is certainly not a bad one.

finished top of our two qualifying groups for wc and ec. reached last 8. we've had some really memorable games over the last 4 years too under him.

tonight was just the age old problem of england players failing to find other england players with their passes. it happens at least every 3 games and as looney so eloquently put it, is just down to our muppet gene.

Sven for me too. His substitutions weren't so bad.

No choice with Rooney being injured (we would have won the game if Rooney had stayed on). Gerrard was noticably knackered. He made one run forward 10 minutes before being subbed & it took him at least 5 minutes to get back - Gerrard was our best midfielder (close with Lampard) in this game & throughout the tournament, but had nothing more to give in this game.

And in all fairness to Phil Neville, I thought he did a good job for the team - didn't make a mistake & got a booking for a foul he HAD to commit.
