How on earth can Bryan Robson be offered shorter odds than Micky?

I hadn't appreciated how much this La Manga business last year had affected Mr Adams' reputation, which is a crying shame I feel.

Will he ever get a big job?

Don't think Micky has ever been rated as a Premiership manager, except on NSC and in Brighton

Not really a surprise at present. His Leicester team are hardly setting the world alight and although he has 3 promotions to his name, he also has 3 relegations.

Granted he was relegated with Brentford and Leicester but I wouldn't count the first season he was with Leicester as he was only assistant then.

As for promotion, oh no, you are right. I forget we were champions of Division 2 to Peter Taylor. So it's one each for us, Fulham and Leicester.

I still think he's a top manager and when you consider the teams he's been relegated with - Leicester was no surprise to anyone because they simply couldn't compete financially in the premiership, and Brentford were relegated in a season where he only took charge for about 8 games.

Give Micky a chance!!

Although I take your point about this season so far.

Does anybody think Alan Pardew would jump at the chance to join a big club?
:jester:

No, Pardew is now at a big club and wouldnt leave to go to Blackburn. I think they might go with Bobby Robson until the end of the season and then get Shearer in. If it were 3/4 of the way through the season they would just stay with Tony Parks and then appoint Shearer afterwards.

P.S. The Racing Post said this morning that you can get as high as 100/1 with some bookies on Shearer.

But surely Shearer is being lined up to ultimately become Newcastle manager?

Mike Newell is a very good shout IMO. He took Hartlepool up, and now has Luton on top of Div2. And he's also a hero in Blackburn from the Championship season. Worth a flutter I reckon.

No way would they take Bryan Robson!

I think Micky was manager of Leicester by the time they were relegated the first time. Bassett had moved upstairs about six weeks from the end of the season.

I think he had a few more than 8 games at Brentford. But he took a team that was way behind in second bottom place and nearly kept them up - it's nothing to be ashamed about.

I still think he'll come good with this present team. It needs a bit of time
