Chike Kande is expected to make his debut for Albion's under-21s against Reading at Lancing tonight (7pm).
The 19-year-old former Chelsea striker, signed on a two-year development contract, featured in last week's 3-1 defeat at Newcastle.
Shamir Fenelon, on target at Newcastle on his early return from a loan spell at Rochdale and on the bench for the first team against Rotherham at the Amex on Saturday, is also in the squad with summer signing Nzuzi Toko.
Glen Rea and Danny Pappoe are both suspended after red cards in the North-East.
USA international midfielder Danny Williams and centre-half Anton Ferdinand return from injuries for Reading.
Rio Ferdinand's younger brother, yet to feature for the Royals due to a shortage of match fitness and hamstring trouble, was recommended to Albion in the summer.
Albion (from): Smith; Doherty; Barry, Hunt, Pappoe, Rea, Dallison, Harris, Starkey, Toko, Fenelon, Cole, Trialist, Kandi, Muitt, Deen, Davis, Wiltshire.

Horsham by the sea
Bow Wow Wow have already written his song:

I know a guy who's tough but sweet
He's so fine, he can't be beat
He's got everything that I desire
Sets the summer sun on fire

I want candy, I want candy

Go to see him when the sun goes down
Ain't no finer boy in town
You're my guy, what the doctor ordered
So sweet, you make my mouth water

I want candy, I want candy
Yeah

Candy on the beach, there's nothing better
But I like candy when it's wrapped in a sweater
Some day soon I'll make you mine
Then I'll have candy all the time

I want candy, I want candy
I want candy, I want candy
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
