Alex Parks to win Fame Academy - currently 5/6 (was 6/4 this time last week)

It's truly, madly, deeply NO CONTEST.

Get on bigtime before the bookies stop taking bets. If Alex don't win, I'll eat my Block H seat witth curry sauce... :p

Has she confessed to being a Lesbertarian yet?

I heard about one of the early shows.

Another contestant: "So Alex, do you have a boyfriend?"

Alex: "Well, er... um... no, but there is someone very special in my life".

Bless.

It is an eye-catching thread. But the idea that something which was 6-4 last week is a great bet at 5-6 this week is not one I'm buying, I'm afraid. I agree with you she should win, great voice, but I'm not backing that at odds on. Would have been a good bet at 3-1 or so, worth a few quid. Good luck to anyone who's got hundreds to punt though.

Fair point Tooting. Tho on the other hand, stick twenty quid in the building society for a year and you'll have twenty one quid. Stick twenty quid on Alex for a couple of months and you'll have thirty seven quid or something. Anyways she's 4-6 now. Will keep you posted with the odds. Just a bit of fun aye?

Got on Alex at 2/1. Annoying thing is she was 8/1 after the first show. She is the class act but 4/6 is too short now as the best singer did not win last year , Lemarr you cannot rely on the UK public for good taste.

Peters shouting and jumping about was good for 1 song but is grating on me now.

My top 3 are:

1. Alex - differerent class to anyone else
2. James
3. Paris

Absolutely. I only saw the final last year but was very very impressed with him. When I heard his song on the radio for the first time last week, I honestly thought it was Luther Vandross singing.

He's THAT good, but still didn't win.

Is she the biffer who sounds like a castrated cat and looks a bit bloke like? Heaven forbid if she's odds on and I thought David Sneddon was bad.

I only kept half an eye on it for Nick Hall whose local bookies is the same as mine.

I've not seen an episode this series.

In Fame Academy 1 though it was clear that 80% of the voters were young females who were voting for reasons other than musical talent - so if I had a bet it would have to be on a Sneddon'esq bloke - but I'm not having a bet so I won't.

I was telling a few of the lads about this thread last night while I was watching the Fame Academy final in the boozer after we got back from scumsville (thankfully the sound was turned down).

Nice one Ross! I dunno - Fame Academy, Big Brother - your betting expertise is clearly limitless! You are a genius!

But here's the big question: what wins the Arc this afternoon?

??? ??? ???

TLB - Dalakhani of course! (or I'm a Former Dutch Marine)

I'm currently favouring High Chapparal myself, and I also like the look of Necklace in the 3-10. But I'm in the middle of a dismal run at the moment, so confidence is not high and stakes will be kept to a minimum.

Sadly, I haven't got any Fame Academy winnings to play with.....

Will probably have a wee each-way saver on Vinnie Roe also, what with me limitless winnings an' all ;)

Used to go to the Arc regularly - it's a cracking day out - and got the best result ever by backing on the pari-mutuel about ten years ago - think it was the year Lochsong won the Prix De Abbey if memory serves. Anyways the trainer that won the Arc that day had three runners, two well-fancied and a 20/1 nag. I backed one of the fancied runners, me mate backed the other. The 20/1 shot romped home & we all got paid out on the winning trainer at about 4/1. Back of the net! :clap2:
