Mixed feelings. Want Maupay to do well but can’t stand the people who bleat about letting him go.

Rarely gets a shot on target (or except Palace).

Cue a Maupay belter!

And here's why it was the right note for all concerned.

How the heck can they confirm or otherwise offside categorically when the camera isn’t level with play ? Utter bollocks.

It’s not as simple as drawing a line on the TV footage. They use several cameras running at 50fps and Hawkeye technology. They’re calibrated for the individual ground and even take into account the camber of the pitch.

Maupay has been deeply unimpressive.

In which case they shouldn’t show a useless angle on the TV coverage

Maybe you're new to this Forum, but we don't want any of your facts here

Don't miss him one little bit. Sure he'll probably scuff in half a dozen goals for Everton this season. But his tally of squandered decent chances will be way way higher
March has settled nicely into that role unfortunately and he won’t get half a dozen goals either.

Wasn’t unimpressive at all was he - it really was a typically Neal Maupay contribution to a game of football. Plenty of energy, running, winding opponents up, missed chances, shoulder shrugs, moments of inspiration, scuffed shots. Exactly as we might all remember.

It has become very trendy to criticise March.
Yet 2 very good coaches for us have regularly made him a starter in the team.
Why is that I wonder?
Are they just not fashionable?

For his defensive work, it’s certainly not for his composure in front of goal

Maupay has been deeply unimpressive.

He played okay. He made some decent runs and he kept the centre halves busy. Ferguson just called the missed chance correctly on the post game coverage, He should have hit it first time. Maupay should always hit chances first time. He's a great finisher all the time that his brain doesn't get asked what his feet should be doing. Everton looked much better with him than they have looked without him. Annoyingly, his performance today would have been useful to us on Tuesday.
