As a sidebar for all you Scrabble players, "za" is now an acceptable word and is in the Scrabble Dictionary - being a shortened version of the word pizza would you believe. As is "zas", the plural.

Hope we don't have any Italians on here looking at that list.

Quite. Quality not quantity for toppings. not necessarily posh ingredients, just good clean fresh flavours . . . a simple Margherita is hard to beat when well executed.

. . . .Nduja and buratta is a winner. . . . .

Fed up with trains. Sick of the rain.
Prosciutto de Parma and fresh Rocket on a thin, crispy base.

Had that on a trip to Sardinia years ago. It was amazing. Since then, however, I can't eat the stodgy stuffed crust efforts from the chains.

Agreed, thin and crispy and ideally eaten in Italy, is the only way to go.

I tend to avoid them in this country though, as when purchased from one of the take away chains, they cost pennies to make and pounds to buy. One hell of a profit margin.

Its all about the white pizza for me. Swapping tomato sauce for a white sauce base makes any pizza better. Add a bit of fennel sausage, friarelli and chilli and you're on to a winner.

Sounds delish. agree re base.

If I wanted a vertically challenged loaf of bread I'd have a warmed up sandwich
