Whoever signs Clyne will disagree with Palace's valuation and counter propose a figure likely to be a fifth of that and let the tribunal decide the amount.

The tribunal system compensates the club for time and money invested in the developement of the player. Its a lottery which clubs try to avoid, so seeking an agreement between clubs takes out the risk element.
Its Clynes decision ultimately( or his agents ),and we all wish him well in his future career, he is a smashing little player.

Do you know how long he would have to be out of contract for before you lose the right to claim compensation? Not saying that's what will or should happen, just interested how the system works

I think you can gain compensation for players up to 24 years of ages ?

Out of interest - you have known he was leaving for a year now I guess. Do you have a replacement lined up and is it a home grown product or a buy-in? No ulterior motive....just curiosity

Thanks. Hadn't clicked as I thought of him as a centre back. Certainly gives presence - not sure about his pace?
