I thought he was absolute quality.

Everything that we did that was any good came from him.

Thoroughlly deserved his man of the match award.

He was definatly man of the match today. The annoying thing is that he only has games like this every now and then!

He is a good player but he just needs to belive that himself!

Today, I identified why it is that I like him so much. It is because he always wants the ball really badly. I have NEVER seem him hide. Even when he makes a complete cock up and looks a fool and everyone is shouting at him he is desperately trying to get into a good position to receive the ball from the throw in or whatever. I think that is a cracking attitude and I wish all of our players had it. He never gives up and is never scared to try something. I imagine his perfect game would be one in which he had practically all the touches, took all the throw ins, free kicks, corners, penaltys, put in all the crosses, and finished them off too!! That is the way it should be.

Totally agree with FH, when it was still 0-0 with a couple of minutes left, another mis-placed pass went awry, everyone else watched it, the defender sauntered gently over, and Jonah steamed over from the other side of the pitch to chase the ball down and force the defender to give away a throw.

Whatever you say about him, he gives a shit, which is more than could be said based on other performances ...

Makes you wonder how good Leon Knight could be if he had the same fire in his belly as Jonah.

Top effort today Jonesey:clap:

He certainly played very well today. Hopefully he can maintain that form.

I think this is because he actually lives in Brighton and loves the place. He has made Brighton his home and he feels a part of the city (and county) and probably why he does actually care.

Albion & England forever.

Blimey, Nathan Jones - player of the season, let's get this bandwagon REALLY moving :lolol:

Actually, I agree with the Full Harris about Jonah's workrate making him a popular player, I think other players fall into that category, players who refuse to hide but whose technical ability can let them down sometimes, Jonah falls into this category and so today did Adam Virgo, Charlie and OGH.

It came off today for Jonah, on two of his bettter long runs began with attempts to dribble only for the ball to ricochet off the legs of defenders and fall invitingly for him to run on from. Poor old Jonah hasn't often had that kind of luck this season.

I still feel that he hasn't quite got that burst of acceleration to take him clear of defenders who he fools with his tricky footwork.

But along with the likes of OGH, Virgs and Charlie he is the player who fits McGhee's current gameplan for the team and that's why he gets the games over more talented players like John Piercy.
???

The Full Harris can certainly be happy that Jonah is a "McGhee" player.

Not sure that I agree with this statement - I though R&D ran the show - we simply played their tune.

You what???????
They hardly touched the ball in the 2nd half. They came for a draw and got what they wanted. Jonah was OK but wasn't outstanding. I thought Chippy had a reasonable game thoughblue times blue

I agree we dominated the game - and that Jones had a very good game - as did a number of others. In fact, I don't think we played that badly (although I do feel that we are mediocre generally). However - R&D came with a game plan and stuck to it. They won on the day (in terms of game plan) and good luck to them. It is down to us to break them down. All I am disagreeing with is the staement that Jones ran the show.
