I find Wes to be a massive creep so it'll inevitably be him.
I think it depends. If Labour get wiped out in a series of by elections and council elections, the party will want to change course pretty quickly and someone even more right wing than Starmer would get nowhere. Burnham would be clear front runner but he's not in Parliament (although, in theory, he could still be PM, just not very likely). I plumped for Darren Jones, as he's attracting a lot of attention as a capable performer; is more left than Starmer but not barking. If they want change, he'd be my tip

Yvette Cooper probably

But any leader of any party has very few realistic options to make things better. The best we can hope for is to find someone who can manage our decline as competently as possible.

How about a return of Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader with the Green party and Independent Alliance mp's brought into the party's fold thus ensuring that at the next election Labour continue to enjoy the support of the Uk's increasing muslim population and therefore preventing Nigel Farage's far right extremist rabble from having any chance of seizing power via the ballot box ?

Corbyn IN

This is all well and good for a firebrand left wing backbencher. Bully for him, I say, no issues at all with what the bloke wears.

But would it have killed him to smarten up when he became leader of the opposition?

Someone will be along shortly to say it was all whipped up by the Daily Fail etc, nobody cares what he looks like in real life etc. Which is true to a point.

As a counterpoint to this, my Mum (Mauritian, in her 60s), who knows very little of politics, with no affiliation whatsoever, votes for the one who “speaks nicely”, and “looks smart” - if they are moderately charming she votes for them. She loved Blair.

She quite literally told me “I can’t vote for him, he looks like a scruff”. And no, it’s not just my old Mum who felt this way. A lot did/do.

Corbyn’s stubbornness lost thousands (millions?) of votes, and yes, his look and manner was a large part of it. The reality is a nice suit and tie would’ve directly earned him a considerable number of votes. But he refused because he’s stubborn over petty shit like this.

I personally couldn’t stand him, but not because of his choice of pullover.

From what e seen, he'd be an excellent pick. Has put in some strong performances on parliamentary committees (not quite the same as PMQs, I'll give you that).
