I agree that their first 2 albums were their best but for me Coldplay are a mainstream pop version of radiohead..............

I really liked the first 2 albums but now it's just 'music for the masses' - bland, bland, bland. The whole album practically sounds like one continuous track. IMO - really disappointing. Like so many bands that have success they just repeat the formula but there isn't one interesting or vaguely different track on the album - The Killers, Keane, Kings Of Leon to name a few all have now just sold out.
Don't get me wrong it's ok, but I new I had bought a duff album when my 70 year old mum heard it in the car today and said 'this sounds nice' zzzzzzz

I very much get what you are saying mate. For me everything coldplay come out with is amazing, but that is just because i am still in-love with them. I still think X&Y is a f***ing amazing album and this was still at the point where they were hungry and full of ideas. Viva la vida was a come down but still a great album, i liken xylo to this album, no masterpiece but still coldplay cream.

Really like it myself.. First single is definitely a stand out track - and, with respect to what others said, pretty different from what they have done before.. Also quite like their attitude, they seem like four decent lads who are fully enjoying what they've got and not whinging about it or acting like a dickhead for the sake of it.
