Barring the shambles of the England team, How did this tournament compare the the countless others you've been to ?

The atmosphere when games were on was by far the best of the 6 world cups that I have been too. Probably the Latin American enthusiasm, there were thousands of Colombians, Chileans, Argentinians (who nobody liked ) , Mexicans, Costa Ricans. Every game saw massive crowds round TV at Fans Parks etc etc and basically the place was football crazy.

We were made really welcome but that has been the case of all of them. Brazil as a country, love it, I loved going from the wilds of the Amazon, to the slums of Sao Paulo to extra friendly Belo to crazy Rio. It is what WC are all about.

Russia will be interesting, Qatar will be the first WC I will miss by choice.
