Last year we replaced a 13 year old upright freezer (condenser on the way out) and a larder fridge of the same vintage with a new fridge/freezer. A 12 year old microwave also made its final ping (the previous one lasted 15 years) and finally the built in electric oven gave up the ghost after 9 years which meant replacing the gas hob too so they matched.

My grandfather bought a Morris Minor in the early 1960s

It was still working perfectly and being used regularly when he died in 2007.

Think the clutch was replaced once and the brakes needed tweaking a couple of times.

But it never broke down when he was driving it.
