My last thought: it's all very well saying you are there for the season...

Harty says that 'it's only September' etc etc etc, basically saying it's going to get better so fans can't get annoyed now.

But we have a solid base of season ticket holders for whom that is the case. But then what about those who have shelled out £25 to just eb there today. I can completely understand if they don't give a poo about whether in 2 months time we get it all together. These floaters (for use of a better word) are those that decide if we get a full attendance and should not be forgotten about.

Hart's comments on the immediate post match broadcast were bordering on the "we were unlucky" "we didn't get the breaks"!.

John Byrne's comments were far more incisive and couldn't disguise his suprise at MA's lack of tactics, for example he said that when Walsall went down to 9 we should have had 2 wide players with chalk on their boots. Everyone else in the stadium knew that, why not MA?

I listen to the phone in every-week and, although i'm not a Hart-hater, he does irritate me.

Byrnes' comments are far more sophisticated and enlightening compared to some of Harts' dross about 'Which Eastenders character would you be?'.

It sounds bad but when he goes on about how, as a season ticket holder, he wouldn't mind tickets being given away for free. But with all due respect, from what I see and hear, he lives a pretty cushy life anyway. There are some fans, my Brother for instance, who can barely afford a season ticket and would have the right to be angry if a product which he's paid over £20 for was given away.

I think he's got to be a little more critical of the club in these situation and not try to cloud over a piss-poor display with promises of great performances because, fact is, if people stopped buying a season ticket and started just coming when we were doing well we'd go down instantly.

Harty is generally an upbeat bloke, he was pro Wilkins as well and is now Pro Adams, he is a half full sort of bloke.

He's been leant on by DK.

I wondered that - he seems very much for Micky - i have nothing against Micky but it dosen't seem to be working - also Ian Hart needs to realise that £20 - £25 a ticket may not be much to him but to some fans they may have had to struggle to find the money and then get what is served up at the withdean this season i can fully understand the fans anger

In the end he has his own job to do, and is probably a bit careful about total condemnations (or total praise) of the manager. Wise enough, since he knows the fans WILL be offering opinion with careless abandon - and that it is they who are the real mouthpiece, not him.
Harty is smart enough not to eclipse fan opinion with his own, that is a trap that many could fall into.

I'm not being sycophantic about him or his presentation; in my opinion he's doing exactly the right thing in order to be a conduit for the fanbase that listen, and have their (our) own opinions.
