My friend is coming to his first game at Withdean tonight. I have warned him it is like losing your virginity. You imagine it to be great and a life altering experience, but its just some awful ball work behind a large rackety shed and youd rather it was with someone a bit more glamorous.

Hope we can convert him to a regular albion goer.

Remember your first time?

Two one win over man city in the late eighties. Loved the North Stand from then on, even when my old man wanted to go into the South Stand.

1st time at the Goldstone was in the cup against Arsenal. Lost 2-1 I think, and we were in the north-east corner fairly near the gooner scum.

1st time at Withdean was in '99 for a 1-0 win against Hartlepool.

As for getting your mate to come back Richie, a few beers always helps the evening seem better.

Early 1990's at the Goldstone. I think a George Parris lob in a 4-0 win was the game that hooked me?

however i cant remember my first albion game as i was only 3 or 4, and my dad cant either :nono:

Ditto! All I can remember is standing in the East Terrace moaning the whole game. Dad didn't take me to too many after that :)

I remember classics like Brighton Vs Man Utd in the League cup when Mike Small scored. A bit later on Brighton Vs Crawley in the FA cup. My PE teacher was playing for Crawley at the time! Naturally we thrashed them! One team in Sussex and all that!

Wasn't the Man Utd game when Beckham came on for his first professional appearance? I thought Matthew Edwards scored the equaliser, could be wrong, am getting on a bit now.

Crawley game was ace, still the biggest win I've seen for Brighton.

2-2 vs Nottingham Forest was my first game at Withdean. The tickets never showed up in the post so I had to get some comps from the ticket office on the day of the game. Gary Hart and Darren Freeman scored for us, Scimeca opened for Forest and David Platt got a late equaliser. What a great feeling it was to be back in Brighton, boiling hot day, brass band on the pitch before kick-off. I never really went to Withdean that much due to living outside of Sussex so i'm slightly behind everyone else in the "getting sick of Withdean" syndrome stakes.

When we beat Crawley 5v0 that was the first game I can remember clearly. Same day Arsenal were dumped out by Wrexham and the North Stand singing 'your going out with the arsenal' stuck in my mind. Cracking strike from Micky Thomas in that game.

Also remember the crawley forward taking the ball round our goalie and slotting it toward the empty net only for it to stick in the mud and get cleared whilst he was celebrating.

My first game was in 1995 at the goldstone when I think we lost 2-1 to blackpool.

First game at Withdean was the 2-2 friendly against Forest. Then I was also at the 6-0 win over Mansfield

Due to not supporting the Albion until I was in my Mid-teens and having parents not into footy my first ever Albion game was in August 2003 in a friendly against Leicester. 3-2 to us.

I know a Albion fan in Brighton who has supported the Albion all his life but has never attended a game.
