This is why we should keep the faith

Was back in 1988, i went to my first game at the age of 7, cant remember who scored for us, but we lost 3-1 to bradford on the opening day of the season, i loved it even though we lost.

After that we lost about 8 games in a row, but still stayed up

I think Chelsea may have even won the league that year (division 2 in old money)

even though times seem bad now, i still love going. The passion about going is still the same as it was 19 seasons later

My first game was a defeat aswell, but still didn't put me off. I have been questioning myself today if i'm going mad for wanting to go to chesterfield, but come friday afternoon when i'm fed up at work there be no other place id rather be than cheering on the team in the terraces on saturday!

Supporting the albion is what saturdays are all about!

I think the first team we beat that season were Leeds at home. Chelsea at home was the only game I missed that year.

Wasn't it also the year we played Arsenal in the FA Cup?

My first game was the FA Cup quarter Final against Norwich and I hated it.

I'm getting old so I mix up 77 and 78. Think it was 77 and it was just after Wardy scored a hat-trick in the under 21s (my first Goldstone game and I can still see the third goal going in). It was against Hull City and I think we won 2-1.
