I was once in interviewed by French TV in Paris (in French) about the amusing fact that two different buildings have plaques claiming to be the birthplace of Rene Descartes. But giving different dates for his birth. (I have no idea if this was actually broadcast.)

So don't talk to me about fame - I think you'll find I've been there.

Ohhh, I like this one!

I was an extra in "Chariots of Fire" when a schoolboy

My real claims to fame are; my starring role in the Meridian TV documentary 24 hours about the A&E dept at the Royal Sussex, (unfortunately I was a lardy at the time with a goatee so looked like Jeremy Sprake!)

But the pinnacle, the absolute top, the glorious summit of my media career was being on the phone in with Harty where I managed to say all of 1 sentence, and the magnificent tour de force at Torquay when once again Mr. Hart summoned me into his prescence for a vox pop where I correctly called the game.

Beat that plebs!

I was in a BBC documentary when at school and also appeared on NewsRoom South-East to talk about said documentary.

Anyone for an autograph?

I went to Bobby Charltons soccer shool at Portslade. I won the prize on Radio Sussex, Steve Penny read my name out!
Despite being crap I managed to win the penalty competition and did well in a couple of other rounds and scored enough points to finish 3rd. If I had won I'd have gone to Old Trafford for a week along with 7 others from around the country and the winner of that went to Barcelona for a week. Unfortunately David Beckham ended up at Barca rather than me.

When Abba won the Eurovision Song Contest with Waterloo it took part in Brighton.

The filmed interlude at half time was of beach buggies driving around the windmill at Rottingdean with Wombles standing in the back. I had Madame Chole the only female Womble, but was disappointed to find it was a man:shrug::shrug:.

The TV audience, Worldwide, was 25 million.:clap2::clap2:

I came second in a Karaoke copmetition, aged about 11, singing the Martika version of 'I Feel The Earth Move' - judged by Andy Crane.

It was all downhill from then on... Fame does crazy things to a kid's mind.

Sadly it was a cine film and I was 2 and she was about 5 and it was in my parents garden. Worth a few quid on ebay mind if the old dears could be arsed to rummage through their attic....

Yorkie, you are a diamond. I have not seen that video since 1974 (just about 34 years ago!). We did write to the BBC some years after to try and get a copy, but they said it had been deleted.

Never dreamt it would turn up on U Tube. Lots of good memories.

Mine is the green buggy that appears in several shots:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:
