the most amazing one i have seen is The Lion King - the opening scene is breathtaking
why?
Rarely have I EVER agreed with a post so much, that's EXACTLY what I think. If you put a gun to my head and made my chose I'd probably say that Cabaret is my favourite film of all time. Mind you, my opinion isn't to be trusted; by far and away my favourite Clint Eastwood film is Paint Your Wagon - another rollicking musical!I LOVE the film Cabaret. Brilliant direction and choreography by Bob Fosse and the performances of their lives from all three main actors, Liza Minelli, Michael York and Joel Grey.
For me, the king of musicals is West Side Story. And I don't even much like the film version - too much cocoa powder on the actors playing the Puerto Ricans I reckon, plus it's annoying when actors have their vocal parts sung by actual singers - Marnie Nixon sang pretty much all the female vocal parts apart from Rita Moreno's Anita, for example. But Leonard Bernstein's score is simply some of the greatest music ever written.
