He's taken them from 3rd place last season to 7th this season and, frankly, only managed to finish as high as 7th because the standard of the SPL has been so poor. I don't think many Motherwell fans though he'd done a good job when they were off the bottom on goal difference and had lost seven games on the bounce.dougdeep

Third place last season was a miracle for Motherwell. Let's face it with 1st and 2nd sen up by the sectarian bigots third place is as good as winning the league for most Scottish clubs.
