To think, we were SO close to losing Gus there.

Nah.

Decent appointment for them. Will also be pretty familiar with all their recent recruits from Celtic. (not that he had much success with them)

Good choice, if he can do for them what he did for West Brom, took them up playing attractive football.

By the seaside in West Somerset
was favourite from the moment Strachan walked so no surprise and a good choice even if his playing style is usually pretty dour (sorry not to share the thought that he had baggies playing attractive football as I mostly thought they were pretty clueless and tactically inept when really tested at the higher level). I rate him as someone who can move Boro up the table though :)

Call me a jumbo sausage in batter, but I don't really get why Boro are such a news item. They are not one of football's 'big boys' in my eyes and on an even playing field (which with Falmer we'll hopefully be on) our potential as a club would arguably match theirs. See also - WBA, Leicester, Bolton, Stoke, Ipswich, Fulham, Nottingham Forest, Portsmouth etc. etc. etc.

Agree with alot of that & they do only get about 17,000 fans each week which is carp. But apart from the last year & a bit they spent rest of that time in the prem and normally mid table... of that list though fulham & bolton seriously...they are constants in the prem & one was in the UEFA final last year....but shit yes they are...on a serious note though I don't think Gus was ever going anywhere.

They did try and play passing football, they just didn't have nay good strikers or defenders.

Wasn't saying they were shit, just that some BHA fans put this club down while conversely putting teams like Boro and similar sized clubs that aren't all that on a pedestool. Fulham and the UEFA cup yes, but it wasn't that long ago they struggled to get 5k at home, so in the words of Shania Twain: "That don't impress a me much."

I had a lot of time for Steve Gibson until he got rid of Southgate.

Was never worried about Lord Poyet going to them, its if Leeds keep letting in goals that I will get a bit worried.
