My new bike I got a few months ago. GSXR1000 that's been Streetfightered. Added a few lights to the front because I'm sick of tw@ts pulling out and not seeing me.

Twin headlights cause problems when both are illuminated.
Easy to mistake them for a set of headlights much further away than they actually are.
Hence at both night and daytime, people pulling out in front of bikes with them fitted and illuminated.
Yes I know some car drivers do so anyhow.

I was allowed to bring my bike in to the house to fit heated grips. I did suggest that it stays there, but my husband was having none of it. :(

I did something similar in the early 80s. It was winter-time, mum & dad both out and I had a bikini fairing kit to fit on my 350LC.

So I wriggled it through the door and fitted it in the kitchen ....

I've had over 40 years of idjits pulling out in front of me. No lights, single lights, bright LED lights all seem to make no difference.

So I'm trying for the mobile Xmas tree look. Not using the bike at all now (except going to the games) so I'll see how it goes and in the summer.

I blew my headlamop bulb last time i rode to a game, tailed my mate on his Guzzi back home . . . Side light only. The A27 is quite dark in places!

when we go on rallies, I often take rechargeable bike lights with me as extras as well . . . . despite having a good 12v system and modern bulbs. more back lights is always a good thiung . . .I have 4 on my push bike!

Yea heading west bound after the Arse game was grim in places. Heavy rain, twisty roads, dark and lots of traffic. Hate to do that with only a sidelight.

It’s weird, I must have had over 30 odd bikes in my lifetime including if a couple of old Triumphs I imported from the states. However, I don’t remember the year but it was when they changed the L law from 250’s down to 125’s I think. I had a brand new RD250LC in black and because of the law change I snaffled up a near new Suzuki X7 and Kawa KH250.
I used to line them up outside my house and genuinely couldn’t decide which one to go out on.
If I had the spare cash, I’d buy them all back!

The Kwacka tripples had charisma
The X7 was quick
The LC Yamys were quickest and classiest of the 3
I had 3 x 350LC road bikes and 2 TZ350s and one TZ250

Then switched to Suzuki with an RG500 racer and GSX750R

Only Kwacka I had was a KE? 175 trail bike which was fun green-laneing. The DT125LC was also fun off-road.

All over a mad 10 years in my early adult life. Lucky to still be alive ....

Well, I have just bought myself a new bike 😁. I have a 23 plate BSA Goldstar. All the charm of a single cylinder 650 without the kickstart!
Lovely ride so far, fingers crossed with the Indian engineering.
Not ridden one but seen and read reviews the engine is based upon the old BMW F650 of the 1990s which has been updated by Rotax in Austria with input from Ricardos in Lancing.
The Indian owners of the BSA branding are Mahindra who like Indian conglomerate Eicher who own Royal Enfield and produce the very good 650 interceptor have really gone for the updated nostalgia with the designs.
The new BSA 650 leans heavily back to the original BSA Goldstar and in doing so almost pulls it off if it wasn’t for the huge ugly radiator needed to comply with modern emissions regulations.
To both companies credit the BSA and Royal Enfield have been designed in the UK with both companies working towards setting up manufacturing here in the uk at some point.
Clearly both companies are keen to get the original names known to a new generation but with reliability up to modern standards ready for Electric versions in the pipeline in fact Royal Enfield are very close to unveiling their first one soon.
All in all I have only heard positives regarding the new Mahindra BSA 650 it sounds sweet looks the part if you can ignore the radiator reliability should be very good with a tried and tested Rotax engine.
