I have definitely seen more electric bikes around, maybe they have taken over from the illegal motorcycle. I have no clue if electric motorbikes are street legal.

The loud exhaust on small motorcycles and dickhead riders go together IMO.
What does the law say on adapting a motorcycle exhaust to sound like a firework display?
It’s estimated that one of these gargly noise machines driving through London at night can disturb up to 200k people.

Which is bonkers.

It doesn’t seem that way in the Newhaven and Peacehaven area, there seems to be plenty of motorbikes with small engines ridden by complete dickheads, these motorcycles also have very loud exhaust pipes.
Revving them seems to make the exhaust pop and bang, these riders seem to appear at traffic lights and crossings and make as much noise to intimidate drivers to move out of the way.

Now what would Darwin want you to do in a situation like this to ensure humanity keeps evolving ?

more than happy for idiots and twats to crash and burn. Tidy up the gene pool a bit.

As mentioned elsewhere, it all started with Fire guards

Here’s my slant, I ride on the road but very sensibly, I get my thrills by thrashing my non road legal bike on track, however, despite my cautious approach on the road I still like a noisy exhaust. “Loud pipes save lives” is a solid motto, it’s not until you’re on two wheels that you can fully understand how poor the average road user is in this country, if they can’t see us they’ll have to hear us.

You must miss the bloke zipping around on the electric motorbike most days, he seems to vistit many different houses for a very short time but doesn't seem to be a food delivery driver.

I wonder what he could be up to.

Anyway, back to the point. Loud pipes save lives. Riding like a dickhead, no, making every effort to ensure other road users hear you and you don't end up another smidsy statistic, yes.

First time, I'm hearing that motto, and now seen it twice on this thread.

Fair play, I hadn't thought of that. As a cyclist, I have some sympathy with that and fully get it. (y)

The noisy motorbikes that get revved, even when stood still, still wind me up. Surely a lot of them can't be road legal, given the noise they make?
