Cheers for the tip with Just MOTs! Think I'll be going back there in the future.

My car failed on four counts; nearside and offside stop lamps not working, offside rear break light lamp incomplete and nearside rear brake pipe excessively corroded.

Anyone know a trustworthy mechanic? lol

D & P Autos, Kemp Town. Not sure of the name of the road, but is down the side of Forfars just near Rock Gardens.

Worthing
Is this normal behavior for taking a car to an MOT.
or is it just me that spends 30 mins going around it looking for potential failure points first ?

Not only should it be normal behaviour prior to an MOT test, but should be done regularly during the rest of the year, too!

you want a second hand car dealer, not a mechanic :lolol:

Go to a place that just does MOTs, like Just MOTs - no vested interest in failing you and if you do fail they'll give you a free retest once you've had the work done elsewhere.

Edit - I agree with minnieme!

NOOOO! :) Just MOTs are a bunch of cowboys, the one on the Old Shoreham Road put a large fag burn in my front seat and tried to pretend it wasn't them when I went to pick up the car (they later admitted it - fantastic someone checking the car with a fag hanging from their mouth). They failed it on things I later found out from a garage I took it to for a second opinion that didn't even need doing, while at the same time somehow failing to spot that my brake pads were almost down to the metal! and passing it on the brake pads! Franchises should be avoided at all costs.
