had the venue we were playing at in kilburn shut down by the rozzers during a gig, due to a 'failed' drugs raid.

place was run by raphael who played sax on baker street, he was very nice about the whole thing;

"lads, you've got five minutes to f*** off"

lovely man :jester:

I put bands on at a pub called the Angel, Lambeth Walk in the early eighties - highlights include a mass brawl when Glasgow band Fingerprintz were playing in which every single glass in the pub was smashed (made us feel at home the band said), and being shut down by the OB for not having a music licence on a special punk night... OB: "And what are the names of the bands playing here tongiht sonny?" Me: "Er, Dirty Toilets, Wargasm...."

I get on OK with fat Ian, to be truthfull, though all Brighton promoters can be twats when they want to be, they seem to have the idea some times that putting a gig on at the FreeButt is equivilant to a sell out at Wembly
