My local branch of the Halifax is advertisng that Howard Brown will be making a personal appearance there next week.
Anyone got any idea why? I can understand people making PAs at bookstores or musicstores as they're going to sell more books but do the Halifax really think that HB is going to shift more mortgages?
And is he that big a draw anyway? All he's famous for is appearing in a few ads - he seems to have managed to become a celeb for no apparent reason and with no discernible talents. I've nothing against the guy, good luck to him for striking lucky, but this rise of 'celebrity' culture is beginning to piss me off.
I've half a mind to take my business away from Halifax in protest.
