Oh Simster !

Can I have multiple choice? It's so difficult to decide

The only one I'm not bothered about is the Man Utd one, the rest are great.

They are indeed. The Reading and Palace results were equally pleasing, but I'm disappointed with our own result to be honest. although it's the sort of result that Palace will be pleased with next season.

I'd add another one to the list ...

Newport County's 5-1 victory away to Worcester City.

After a terrible start to the season, County have now recovered and are climbing rapidly up the Doc Martens Premier League table. Now in 11th place, they might just be ready for the visit to Eastbourne Borough next Saturday.

Sorry folks, it's a residual Welsh thing I have - and I know it's not widely shared on NSC. But surely some of you must have felt something during the fifteen minutes that Wales were leading New Zealand in the World Cup match?

Superb game, that one. There can't be much between Wales first and second string!

I'd like to have seen Ireland beat Australia - you have to say that Ireland, France and England all look capable of competing the three southern hemisphere teams, and Wales are no mugs either on that performance.

No, LB, I was not sharing your enthusiasm at all. I started off thinking "well done the Welsh, what an inspired and plucky performance" until I realised that if they won the game, England would play New Zealand in the quarter finals.

Then I immediately realised what a quality, skilful, thrilling, dynamic, strong and all round great side NZ are...

Like Edna yes I did - absolutely bricking it that we were about to be stitched up by a pair of sheep shaggers.

Since we didn't win against Boro, and England were always going to beat Uruguay, and tennis is a dull spectator sport (not bad to play but to watch - come on whack, ace, 15-0, yawn) it has to be Palaces drubbing, made extra sweet by the fact some Croyden no mark apparently brought a 5-0 flag that was on full display on telly. They'll love that one down the irony club. :lolol:

No Bloody Way.

You guys don't have to put up with watching the matches on RTE and having the panel constantly calling us arrogant if we win and not good enough if we have a slightly shakey performance. They said Clive Woodward was patronising for his generous comments about Uruguay also.

The papers over here also say they hope England don't win because the world will have to endure 4 years of gloating.

I don't get it when the average english fan will support Ireland and Wales and possibly Scotland too, at a push.

Yes, they did. It was an England flag with 5-0 written across the top. However, it had "26th October '02" written across the red in the middle.

Good thread - am happy with all the results. Am v pleased that Palace got such a drumming and Portscum losing as well. Don't think the England rugby result was either in question.

So that leaves my best reults of the weekend to be a point away from home for Brighton adn Henman winning the tennis! I voted for Henman!

 :bounce: :clap2:  :mexican:

I think the fact that the Pompey result hasn't attracted a single vote merely emphasises the quality of the choice.
