To be fair, it is not a misspelling, it is the incorrect use of the word.

True enough, but it gives us a chance to mention it on a spelling thread! You could also say the same for the mis-useage of "you're" and "your" which again isn't technically a mis-spelling.

Anyhoo going off at another tangent, as this is a spelling thread, does anyone have trouble spelling the word Mediterranean? If so here's a handy little rhyme:

"May Every Dog In Tasmania Eat Raw Radishes And Nothing Else After Noon"


And another one for helping to remember if it's 'necessary' or 'neccesary'

"Never Eat Cod Eat Smoked Salmon."


And: "Possess possesses two pairs of esses (s's)"
