Most frustrating Albion Chairman/Manager combo

I'm starting to find the Dick Knight/ Mark McGhee combination very frustrating. Words like Piss up & Brewery are starting to spring to mind.

Can you think of any other Chairman/Manager combo's that have frustrated you?

Archer/Lloyd was another although saying that the DK/MM combination is frustrating is a fair comment. Its not ideal but there again, consider Jordon/Souness !

Barry Lloyd was a much better manager in hindsight than most of us gave him credit for at the time.

As for Souness going to Palace. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Please God, let it be true.

Couldn't agree more I wonder how many people remember Mullery the way I do. He had a virtually unlimited budget during his first spell and people go on about McGhee falling out with players well my recollection was that he's not in the same league as Mullery. He was also brilliant at signing crap or overpriced players (Remember Peter Sayer anybody ?) Only in his second stint when he had no money did we find out how mediocre he really was.

Indeed. I was only 12 when Catlin came in, then Lloyd. Going to wembley in my second season was such a big deal, but cos it was all I had known I though this was normal. Lloyd just seemed so drab after Melia, white shoes, helicopters and all.

What he achieved getting to the play-off final in 91 with the team he had was awesome.

Melia was a bigger clown that all of them true. Rumour has it he skipped out of the area owing rather a large amount of cash to the sort of people he shouldn't have borrowed from. Last seen coaching in the US I believe.

I was probably around the same age when MR Cattlin came in as manager. And I still believe to this day that we had the next Brian Clough on our hands, if he wasn't shafted, I strongly believe we would have been a top Division One side (now premiership), within a year or two, and probably still there now.

The man who was responable of sacking Chris Cattlin, was the man who started the decline of Brighton & Hove Albion Football CLub, and is a 100% genuine xxxx

I don't Lloyd was a manager under Bill Archer. It was one of Bellotti's first tasks as chief executive to sack him - by mutual consent.
