Mooney Leaving Swindon - Good Signing For The Albion?

Bit on Ceefax tonight (P396) saying Mooney's not re-signing for Swindon for next season after contract negotiations broke down.

I reckon he'd scrub up well for the Albion. He knows where the goal is (well the woodwork at least) and comes with his very own ready-made chant which, face it, Chris Iwelumo didn't.

I'd expect Bristol City to sign Mooney, they need a quality partner for Heffernan and, besides, Swindon is not a million miles from Bristol so he wouldn't have to move far.

If we signed Mooney I would feel indifferent about it.

I think Mooney would be a good acquisition for us and would be capable of holding his own in Div 1. Got to be worth a bid me thinks.

All the talk of Mooney joining Bristol City was prior to the departure of Danny Wilson, despite the fact that he lives just down the road I don't expect him to sign for them (this makes it a racing certainty that he will).

Not sure personally if he would be a good signing for us as I haven't seen him play that often, might be worth a risk though as he probably wouldn't demand much of a signing on fee.

I think the City link was made after Wilson left. I think Mooney is best mates with either the player who has taken over - or his assistant. Played with one of them at Birmingham ?
