Money versus 1st team action

It seems Lloyd Owusu is staying at Sheffield wednesday as we are offering him less then Chris Turner.

He's not playing in the first team there, and he would have a chance of proving himself down here instead.

What I am confused about is how money seems to make the huge difference. If I was a footballer, I would prefer to play week in week out for a team rather than be stuck on the bench. Although Beighton aren't offering him as much as he is on now, I am sure that it is enough to be comfortable on. Come on what he earns in half a year is probably more than what I earn in 1!

I think he should stop being greedy. If it was a reason like he didn't want to move, then so be it!

its the way the games panned out , money is key to sucsess and failure rather then ability - its a shame really !

And thus being the difference in attitude between footballers of the 21st century and those of the 1970's and before.

Oh come on get real. Owusu has a limited time to make his money out of the game, I don't blame him for staying put. He's making the bench and coming on in games. Perhaps he feels he has a chance to force his way into the starting 11.

tHAT'S WHAT kITSON WAS LIKE LAST SEASON. PAYED BUCKETS OF CASH AND DID NOT WANT TO PLAY FOR US.

IF THATS HIS ATTITUDE WE ARE BETTER OFF WITHOUT HIM, IF HE CAME TO US HE COULD REALLY MAKE A NAME FOR HIMSELF AGAIN JUST LIKE LEON.

edna - I think you're being a bit unfair on Lee as he has stated a number of times that he wants to get in the side and is prepared to try his best to do so. I say the fault lies with whoever signed him...

But he's bound to say that isn't he.

He's gonna turn round and go "Nah, not bothered about playing, as long as you muppets keep paying me."

If RLZ is right and he turned down a good chance to resurrect his career, then that speaks volumes for his lack of desire.

Im sorry, but I wouldnt move jobs to earn significantly less than I do now either, even if I wasnt particuarly enjoying what I was doing.

If youve got a family to support and you know youre career is only going to last till you are in your early 30's you would try and earn as much as possible.

He has no reason to want to come to us other than he did alright under Coppell, I think some people round here are extremely naive.

If he has a family - then I agree completely that he should stay.

I probably am naive, but I personally would rather earn a little less and play 1st team football with a better manager and (at the moment) better propsects on going up to division 1. IN the long run, he might earn more?
