5 year deal? Like we did with Jahanbakhsh .......... oh dear. Would much rather it was a 2 or 3 year deal. We can always update and extend his contract if he turns out to be any good in the PL.

This is a 19 year old, probably quite cheap (rumours say £5m) signing more likely signed to make an impact in the (not too distant) future rather than right now and with a wage that represents that. Jahanbakhsh had just scored 20+ goals and 10+ assists in Eredivisie at the age of 24 or something and was signed for £17m (more than three Caicedos), probably expected to immediatly become a key player and with a wage representing that.

Think they are not really comparable signings and that this guy, however it turns out, is a smaller risk than Ali J.

looking on the bright side, if he doesn't sign then we won't be filling numerous threads with debates as to whether he was a bigger waste of money than Jahanbakhsh, Locadia, Propper, O'Grady, Barnes, Savage, Hawkins, Farrington, Bridges, Gilliver ....

Only in terms of the fee. We've got less to lose, but I'd still prefer a shorter deal.
