Strange how Baleba didn't even make the top three for Goal of the Month on MoTD.

Why is that jackson goal there? Its a good ball from Palmer to Neto. But thats it. Everything else is pretty ordinary, the type of goal you see 5 times a week. Ball played out wide, and cut back across the defensive line for an easy finish. I'd even argue that the long through ball from Palmer, as nice as it is, is one that you see fairly regularly through the season when a team starts a counter attack like that. Not enough to be in the goal of the season conversation for that through ball alone.

I think it's made up of the goal of the month winners from each month, so presumably the Chels voted heavily or there was no better opposition in the month it won.

I think there's always the question of whether you should judge a "Goal of the whatever" only by individual effort, or whether you should consider team goals or the context in game.

Personally, I don't think you should count the context very much. Extraordinary individual effort should be key, but a really well worked team goal is worthy of some consideration. There's also the question of whether the goal scorer was actually being deliberate.

TL;DR; It's Kaoru innit? And it's not even particularly close.

The only way Mitoma doesn’t win that is if clubs decide every fan will vote for their guy.

About four or five of them are essentially the same goal ie smashed or curled in from 25-35 yards. A couple of them are ridiculously poor defending (Baleba and marmoosh) where they have all the time in the world.

The Jackson goal is quite standard these days when playing a high line. One pass takes out the defence. Not a hard ball because just put it into space.

Wilson was a neat finish but not even close to Giroud effort years ago.

Brook’s good technique but was just a side foot in

Palmer the keeper was in the wrong post code.

Yea I am biased but Mitoma had the first touch at full speed without breaking stride, couple of touches to get space to shoot and curled it bottom corner. Arguably keeper could have saved it but the keeping was not as bad as some say as he took it early.

I think lots of neutral fans will vote for Mitoma, because he's a decent guy who never winds up the opposition or their fans...(except through his skills!!)
And... it's clearly a cracking goal.
