Yeah, I thought the same when we went tbh. People were quite vocally into it but nothing to really detract from what was going on and probably improved the experience for the kids.

Had it been like this, however...

Christ.

Half of me thinks “they are kids having fun at an event”

The other half thinks “what a bunch of easily manipulated, over excited morons”

As long as they didn’t hurt anyone and everyone knew what to expect, doesn’t seem to be any harm in it. Not like they’re doing it at the latest Bill Nighy film.

Probably a little scary for the younger kids though.

I dunno. Not my idea of a nice time. And it’s not aimed at me, so who cares.

I have to say that, even as a confused 40s dad, the experience of the film was improved by it. It's was a fun knockabout film, it was something the kids obviously were enjoying and I really didn't need to hear every line to work out what was going on.

Let them enjoy themselves, I say.

Jack Black managed to explain the plot and character goals every five minutes anyway so it was hard not to keep up.

Sounds ghastly.

Wife says to me ' shall we take kids to cinema this Saturday?". I feign dismay as I confirm that we have Leicester at home. "OK perhaps I'll take them anyway". Result!
