Just heard that "Gullhanger" himself is coming up on TalkSport in the nest hour

I know he is media friendly, but I'm getting pissed off that everytime we seem to be on the radio they phone up him....I'm no Samrah (spelling?) lover but heard him on Sky this morning and no can doubt his love for BHA and the articulate manner he puts the message across re: Coppell, Falmer, Withdean, etc

Yes Mike, you may have been home and away the last few years, but I stress the LAST FEW YEARS only.....IMHO you are no more an Albion fan than my brother who plays rugby and has been to about 5 Albion games in the last 20 years

Cue abuse, because I know some of you on NSC know him, and he may well be a "good bloke" but he's a bandwagon fan, nothing more

I see the point.

I liked his book and all, but he does seem to be putting himself forward as a fans spokesperson far too often.

Others have been here far longer and through a lot more.

That said, it could be that he's not seeking the attention, but becuase of his contacts naturally ends up getting it.

Good Book, The BLoke is now an albion fan like any other fan. He is known by people in the press so if they want to speak to an Albion fan he's an obvious choice.

At least they are talking to Albion fans rather than just ignoring the whole thing.

There is too much of this 'I am more loyal than you because I went to Barnsley Away in the third round of the League Cup in 1981' mentality ( I did go and we were utter shite by the way, lost 4-1 to a side two divisions below us).

Mike Ward is in the media inner circle, can express himself reasonably well and will not go off on a tangent like certain poetic so called spokesmen for the Albion. TalkSport know he is a safe pair of hands who will resist the urge to call Coppell a weasel faced pair of :censored:

He is a journalist so therefore easy to contact.

He will also know the right things to say and definitely pro Falmer so can put that across well too.

Paul Samrah made the Falmer case extremely well on Sky this morning.

Public awareness is vital at present

I understand the sentiment in this post, Mike Ward has actually piggy backed the club and made much more of a name for himself as a result.

I actually think his column in the programme is pants too! Cue abuse!

How has he piggybacked the club.

He wrote a book about his experiences following the Albion. The book sold. You don't have to buy it.

I bought it and enjoyed it. The success of the book hasn't taken away anything from the club, in fact it has probably helped it.

He has piggy backed the club, we gave him the material to write about, he has been given an article in the programme, He is now known as the journo to speak to about Brighton in the trade. 3 or 4 years ago he didnt know the first thing about BHA.

Where did I say that it in anyway took anything away from the club? I dont think it has at all. I am only saying that because of his involvemet with us he has made more of a name for himself.

So what? Does it really matter?

He's in the media, they'll call him up as he's obviously known in the media circles.

Lets put F.G. on national radio. He's supported the club for longer..
