Me and a mate are flying with Easyjet from Stanstead to Newcastle for £37 return each. We get the 11:25 flight which gets us to Newcastle at 12:30. The return flight is 6:45am which gets you into Stanstead at 7:55am.

Who else is going, how are you getting to the game, and what pub are you drinking in? Anyone up for an NSC pissup and nite on the tiles in Geordie Land?

Turkey, me, fatboy, Artois and others who I'm not sure about are getting the 8.20 flight up to Newcastle, then hanging around until Saturday and getting the train back in the evening.

Artois was booking me flight tickets, but reckoned he had to be back at work on Thursday morning, hence talk of a flight back at 5.45am Thursday morning, after kipping at the airport.

Was considering kipping at teh airport but reckon itll be a grim experiance. Depends on what sort of price I can get on a hotel, Id rather pay £20 for a few hours kip than sit up all night in a deserted airport.

I was hoping on meeting an attractive young lady kipping round hers for free, or the cost of a taxi. :clap2:

One question guys how are you going to get to Stansted for 7.20 or whenever you hav eto check in?

Roz and I are flying from Gatwick to Newcastle on the 1545 flight on Wednesday. Returning on Sunday (arrive back at 1855). More expensive, but it cuts out the hassle of getting to and from Stansted or Heathrow.

Car hire at Newcastle Airport, accommodation in Newcastle City Centre, Whitley Bay just down the road. Two football matches. It's a grand holiday.

If people want cheap boozing in Middlesbrough, I would recommend the pubs on the Teesside University campus. Dirt cheap and within walking distance of the town centre (as indeed is the Riverside Stadium).

Does anyone know where the Albion are staying? We should invite a few players along to an NSC piss up.

Myself, Mrs links, and the boy are on the same flights. Staying at the Travelinn at Newcy Airport.

So I guess we'll see Italia & Dan on the plane then! Is it a dress code of stripes for the plane?

Got these messages from the guy at MiddlesbroughMAd when I emailed him.

If you are up for a couple of days I would reccommend a trip to Whitby which is only 30 minutes south over the North Yorks Moors, you could also take a trip on North Yorks Moors Railway and visit Goathland, better known as Aidensfield in Heartbeat. There are loads of quaint villages on the Moors if you get off the beaten track, or picturesque fishing villages dotted along the coast Staithes and Robin Hoods Bay to name a couple.

There is a good museum in Hartlepool, the Historic Quay, quite close to the Victoria Ground but if you wanted to go further afield you could visit York or Durham. Beamish Museum, just north of Durham, near Stanley, is an excellent day out.

Last couple of ideas, there are two 'decentish' themeparks not too afr away, Flamingoland near Pickering and Lightwater Valley near Ripon.

Hope this helps and you enjoy your stay, apart from the match of course!!!

Best Regards

AND

There are numerous decent Indian's and Chinese in the town, all within walking distance of the ground.

The Masala and Khans are both good Indian's on Borough Road, while East Ocean (also Borough Road) and Peking Villa on Linthorpe Road are both good Chinese.

The Indian's and Chinese are also the best bet for extending the drinking hours, I don't think there are too many bars open late mid-week, as for hotels you would have to be a resident

So that's the info I got, particularly for anyone who's staying up for Hartlepool.
