I grew up in Lancing in the 60's and 70's and I always remember my Mum and Dad referring to the houses above the A27 as you come in to Lancing from Worthing as Mickey Mouse Town. Anyone know the origin?

P.S. 3.1 to the Albion on Saturday.

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

It's because when they were built they were all bungalows and it looked like a town built for midgets. Now of course nearly all of them have loft conversons so they look a lot like 'proper' houses.

A semi-relevant aside: I know you don't really remember much of your schooldays, but do you remember Peter Woodings? He was in our Year but not in your class. Anyway he was a classical guitarist and a resident of Micky Mouse Town, (he was friends with John Clift who played piano for you in the Jazz Band). Sad to say he died last year of cancer.

Thanks Brovion

I do remember Peter Woodings, he was a lovely soft spoken guy and a very tasteful musician. I'm sorry to hear the news. I feel increasingly that once you reach your 50's the most relevant news that you get is about someone you knew passing away. Such is life, I guess.

Best wishes to you.
