Don't like the bloke but he has just pledged 5 million pounds towards the tsunami victims fund.
I know he earns a fortune but £5 million will go a long way to helping the victims families and survivors.

£5 million is a lot of money for anyone - sure he can afford it but a great gesture all the same and the money really will make a difference:clap:

That's 1/3rd of what our government has pledged.
Good on you Michael

They have pledged £45 million now but I do believe their original one was a lot less.

Agree with Crabtree in that he is a fantastic driver and the only reason I don't like him is due to him being German and so bloody talented

Never liked the bloke since he shunted Damon Hill out in that race for the title final chapter. Sometimes in sport, win at all cost it unpopular. But fair-play to the bloke as £5m must be equal to about a month's wages to him.

Using the new google bar. I found.....
Michael Schumacher
Team: Ferrari

According to Forbes, Michael Schumacher is the second highest-paid athlete in the world behind only Tiger Woods. His earnings between June 2003 and June 2004 were estimated at $80 million, with his salary from Ferrari accounting for roughly half of that amount.

Schumacher earns that kind of dough because he has more wins than any other F1 driver and is a six-time world champion. He typically earns as much from endorsements as he does from racing: of the $67 million comprising his 2002 winnings, only $32 million came from winnings on the race track.

Damon Hill once said, "Michael Schumacer may be mentally strong, but once you get inside he has a heart of steel". :D

My favourite quote that is

Fair play to him though

One of the F1 commentators, not Murray I'm certain, might have been an RTE one even said:

"Under that cold, cool, icy Germanic exterior beats a heart of stone". The only time I've seen him shop any emotions at a race were when Ralf was injured.

The Man is an Absolute Legend, and a great bloke! And to pledge that amount of money, wheather its a lot or little to him is very generous, and you can bet it will go along way.

MS body guard was killed in the disaster and i believe that is the wheel power behind his donation...
