Met loads at various book signings. Wardy at the club shop when he was signing posters of him. And sat with Kerry at the Marina Bar in Tenerife during the last World Cup.

Once met Teddy Maybank and Mark Lawrenson at Brisbane road. Neither of them were playing that day as they were both injured. That was the day of the classic 3-3 draw which was one of the few games Martin Chivers played for us. I still have two signed programmes from that game.

Also met Mike Robinson and Steve Foster in the Ship in East Grinstead one night while they were still playing for us. I was a bit pissed but they seemed happy to chat. Robbo was a real hero of mine at the time so I was dead chuffed!

Also met Gary Stevens, a mate I was with asked if he could remember him knocking on his door and asking if he wanted to play football with him and his mates. That was over 20 years ago and he couldn't remember. Strange that!

When the Halifax away game was cancelled for the umpteenth time, the team crossed the road to a local park to do some jogging - wandered over and Mickey Adams chatted away...lovely man. Phil Stant looked blimmin'ancient!

Oh yeah, and Jon Goodman (Millwall at the time) was going out with a girl at uni. One day he got transferred to Wimbledon and his car over night transformed from a Golf to a BMW. Wonder if that's enough for Paul Brooker?

Waiting on a plane in Barbados 3 years ago to return home from holiday, the flight was delayed because 2 passengers were hanging about in the airport bar. The two in question were Mark Bosnich and Dwight Yorke! Strutted onto the plane like a pair of arrogant tossers, larging it everywhere. Didn't give a toss they'd delayed the flight for everyone else. :tosser: :tosser:

FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
Met quite a few, but as a regular drinker in the Witch at Lindfield on a Saturday afternoon. After my own game, theres nothing better than Gerry Ryan saying " Marshy what can I get you "
Brilliant, an Albion legend knows my name and pours me a pint....

Fantastic.
Top Bloke as well he is, and a pretty mean golf player.
Had the pleasure of many a round in his company at our football club golf days.

Problem is he always wants to bet and ends up fleecing me !

Still njoy handing the money over tho !
