I don't like them particularly but each to their own. I think that they look ridiculous as in the pictures in post number 20. I don't have sufficient hair for it to really concern me.

I used to have a ponytail when I was about 18/19. This was in the early-mid 90s and I was well into my hardcore raving, all the big DJs had them then (Slipmatt, Dougal, Vibes etc.) and so I did the same. It was WELL GOOD the day I cut it all off and saw it falling to the floor though

I don't think its half as bad as some styles I've seen lately.Every teenage boy I see seems to have borrowed his hairstyle off Adolf Hitler. Admittedly the ponytail does make most men look a little creepy especially when they combine it with a f***ing Goatee beard. There really is no need for the goatee beard as it makes you look like ****. Surely it cant be as bad the MULLET.
This seems to be the "modern" mullet, personally the mullet is the bigger crime I think.

No offence taken, but i have a very good friend into the rock scene and sports one,but never thought he looks like a paedophile, but will admit it does look stupid on some.
I think it might offend quite a few with the amount of pony tailed men I've seen at Brighton games.

i have long hair and to be honest the only people who tend to comment are fat balding blokes that couldn`t grow their hair if they wanted to, personally they offend my eyes but each to their own,Most of the time i have more to worry about than what others think or look like, live and let live..

Each to his own. I had long hair as a student, still have longer than average hair now at age 59, but would not want to do a ponytail - it's never been long enough to do it properly.
I think the only two men here who can carry it off are Johnny Depp and Emmanuel Petit. I thought Paul gascoigne in particular looked stupid.
